Where is the 77×79 Block Party held?
On 79th Avenue between 77th St and 79 St, in King Edward Park. The main area and welcome table will be at the east end of the street on the south side.
What activities can I expect at the event?
- Enjoy games, food, and friendly neighborhood fun. Thanks to Troy Roberts with MaxWell Realty, food and drink will be sponsored for this event.
- This block party isn’t just about food, fun, and laughs, it’s also a chance to get to know the people who live around us. When we know our neighbours, we create a safer, more connected community where we can look out for one another. Whether it’s sharing contact info in case of an emergency, keeping an eye out when someone’s away, or coming together to support local concerns, every connection strengthens our collective voice. Let’s celebrate, connect, and lay the groundwork for a neighbourhood that has each other’s backs.
- This will be a BYOD if you would like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage.
What can I contribute to the event?
🥗 Bring something to share — snacks, drinks, folding chairs, lawn games, or your best party spirit! We are looking for games that could used in the street such as Ladder-Ball, Yard Yatzee or Giant Connect 4. If the weather is nice, you could put out your sprinkler or pool on your front lawn for children to play in or you could set up a drink table on your front lawn if you have a favourite summer drink you would like to share.

🧹 Volunteer to help set up or clean up — many hands make light work!
Is the event family-friendly?
Yes, the block party welcomes all ages for an afternoon of community joy.
Do I need to register to attend?
While you don’t have to RSVP to attend, it really helps us plan! We are hoping to have RSVP’s in by Sept. 1. Knowing how many people are coming means we can make sure there’s enough food, drinks, and fun for everyone. Please take a moment to RSVP — it makes a big difference!
Do I need to move my vehicle?
🚗 Not required, but appreciated: If you can park off the street during the party, it’ll help make space for games, food tables, and easier mingling!
How long will the avenue be closed for?
We are asking the City to close the street for the 2 hours.
Do I need to live on the avenue to attend?
Nope! Friends, family, and nearby neighbours are all welcome – just please RSVP so we can plan food and fun accordingly.
